emit

send music straight from your session.

stream it live into their daw, or their phone. or send a link that plays anywhere, no app needed.

send music from anywhere.

upload from the browser, drop it on the emit app, or send straight from inside your session. send lossless and they hear lossless. and if you give the app a bounce folder, every bounce sends itself.

play it to them live, before it's even bounced.

the sender plugin streams your session lossless, in real time. they press play in a browser, or pull it straight into their own daw with the receiver. when you stop, the stream ends.

listen in any browser. no login. it just plays, exactly as you sent it.

this is what they open when you send a track. nothing to install.

then the link disappears. or you let them download. you're in control.

links expire on your schedule, or after one play, or 24 hours if it's never played. and the download button appears only when you put it there.

the lineage

this idea is older than you think.

pre-80s
a white-label acetate disc in a worn paper sleeve
the acetate. one cut. trusted ears.
80s & 90s
a stack of cassette demo tapes
the cassette. handed over, mailed out.
2000s
an iPod's click wheel, close up
the iPod. mp3s everywhere, forever, sounding worse.
now
emit
emit. exactly what you sent. your people. the link goes when you say.

acetate. cassette. iPod. emit.

what emit keeps

like most websites, our server keeps standard web logs, including IP addresses, for about 30 days, to run the service. emit itself keeps no record of who your listeners are. a link counts its plays, nothing more.
